So, what happens when you take knitting a few steps too far?
http://fishki.net/print.php?id=6118 (Caution: one or two pictures there might be NSFW.) Yeah, they look warm, but I'll bet they're itchy as all get-out. :: +Memory :: Tell a Friend :: 1 reply :: Reply Waking up day after day with the same old sky and everything the same. Nothing changes, not even people. I find myself in a vortex of rage and disrespect. I've been taught by my peers how to be violent, how to be twisted, how to be mean. Far, far away have I gone from the beautiful, stained-glass window of sanity.
Welcome to my nightmare New Hotel & New Website (www.furfright.org)!
For 7 years the Staff at FurFright has worked their tails off to give you the best con possible, and treat our attendees, charities, and community with kindness and respect. And we’ve realized that we need a hotel that shares our same work ethic, attitude, and goals. And so…. FurFright has a new home! We searched high and low, and found the perfect place! The Crowne Plaza in Cromwell, CT! This is a MAJOR upgrade! Here’s just a few of the many perks and attractions: -- FurFright has the entire hotel to ourselves! No Caca Flee or other groups (or ants) taking up our space and rooms. We get ALL the conference space and guest rooms (at the cheap con rate)! -- Better location (better than Waterbury, CT? Hell yeah!) with stupid easy access and TONS of excellent restaurants and shops within walking distance. -- A beautiful ATRIUM and many plush LOUNGES/LOBBIES (that we WILL have access to day and night!), and a LOT more conference space than the old hotel. -- Bigger Dealers’ Dungeon to accommodate more dealers! -- Free parking for 800 vehicles -- $99/night rooms for single/double/triple/quad -- Easy, single page online registration for the main hotel AND overflow. -- This year we're spending Halloween at FurFright! We’ve got trick-or-treating, parades, dances/parties, and a bunch of other surprises! And more! Will this be like last time? NO! Because we’re hard-asses and got every detail in writing! It’s awesome! But Hell, Chewbacca, don’t take MY word for it! Take our VIDEO TOUR! FurFright October 29-31, 2010 Cromwell, CT USA www.furfright.org Guests Of Honor: Louve, RedCoatCat, & Flare Starfire ((Because of hotel availability the convention will be held the fourth weekend of October (29-31st) FOR 2010 ONLY. The following year we will return to our regular third weekend in October time slot.)) For more info on the con and hotel visit our ***NEW WEBSITE*** www.furfright.org. New hotel. New website. Same old shenanigans. I just want to let everyone know this so they can help me, especially by not purchasing me candy or cookies anymore. *sad*
I am changing my food choices to cut out most sugars. Also no alcohol (I know, it's a stretch for me *grins*) and no artificial sweeteners either. (Stevia is fine and I need to check on agave.) Instead I'm going to focus on veggies and proteins. I can still have sugar (i.e. a small bowl of ice cream), but I'm going to minimize it and eat it as part of a larger meal. BTW, if you try this change, it's almost sickening how much stuff has sugar in one form or another in it. Our niece brought this awesome salad dressing over and the very first ingredient is sugar. Sucks! *grins* I will be focusing on my veggies by eating more broccoli and celery. I also picked up a few bags of edamame today. Nuts are also huge so I grabbed four bags of almonds from the baking aisle. Thank goodness the holidays are over so the nut aisle is slowly being restored. I've also been scarfing on Bear's thin little hamburger buns and our grillers. Yum! I forgot how much I love hamburgers and I can make them quickly too, with lettuce, a swipe of mayo, and ketchup. (Yes, I know both of those two have sugar in them as well. I'll consider that something to work on later since they're minor offenders.) I also have to minimize potato products and white rice, and add in lots of whole grains. I'd love to find some wild rice stuff the next time I go to the grocery store. It's going to be interesting going to CA, especially when we're in the hotel. Fortunately, there's tons of great restaurants nearby and Bear and I will be doing our grocery run to fill in for the rest of the day. *hugs* It dawned on me last night.
Loyalty & Liberty has been online for 2 years now.... Maybe I can stop sucking and get the art where I want it to be. :| I've beat that 6 month lifespan for a webcomic right? I do have hiatus's I don't deny that... Blame that on not planning ahead rather than motivation. animals are dumb. Right?
And on a related note: http://survivingtheworld.net/Recitation Considering that for most animals, the only trouble they really have is because humans are douchebags, we are soooo low on the table of true intelligence. *hugs* I sit here in my TV room, watching the snow fall (AGAIN!) and contemplating the upcoming year and my future. This is going to be a year of unknown variables. Unfortunately, there are so many unknown variables, I feel that I can't plan out anything.
Variable #1 -- My job. As I mentioned in a previous post, AT&T wants ro pare down a number of clerical positions. Being pretty much ranked in the middle of seniority, I will certainly be affected by this. If jobs are to be cut from the top in seniority down, I'll be cut. If they're cut from the least in seniority up, I'll be cut. But I won't know most, if not all of the details until perhaps next month. Variable #2 -- Kidney. I am under the impression that I'll get notification about my kidney transplant "Any Day Now." Will I get a kidney before my job goes away? *shrug* Variable #3 -- Living area. Variable #1 shows that I will not have my current job for very much longer. Because of that, I would like to live in a different area of the country -- one where snowfall is minimal to non-existent. Of course, I would like to travel to a couple of areas to get a feel for them. But because of Variable #2 coupled with my current dialysis schedule, planning out where I'll be on any given day adds a level of complexity, not to mention the days wasted where I'd be so wiped out from dialysis I wouldn't be able to do much of anything. And, given my luck, my dialysis times would be in the most inopportune times available. So, what to do? I don't know. This is one time where "wait and see" is infuriating because I'm wasting time by doing nothing. But I need to be patient while some of the other variables become less variable and more controllable. Today, I finished Oblivion. *waits for the cheering to stop* AND I just got 1.7 million points in Qix. *waits for the crickets to stop chirping* I know, I know. A magnificent day! At least for me. AND deleting Oblivion off the hard drive freed up about 10 gigs of space. Not bad. I kept my last save game and all the add-ons I purchased.
It's frickin' freezing outside and snowing like crazy, and we've got patients coming in tomorrow. Thank goodness the snow's going to keep falling until it's dark so we have to get up extra early tomorrow morning to clear away the ice from the driveway, the snow from the path, and Tama's car. Actually, I might bundle up and go out to do some sweeping on the path now, to see how easily it clears. Tomorrow's supposed to warm up from today's teens to the lower 30's so I don't want to get stuck with all kinds of crap on the path. The driveway and roads are a sheet of ice right now, but I think we'll be able to chip away at the driveway. Or at least the stuff on our side of the driveway so our patients don't slip and fall. Otherwise, our big tasks for today have been taking down Christmas trees. Ours is down and now we have to go upstairs to do the big one. Yay... Went upstairs to do it once but Bear's mom was napping on the couch. But that allowed me to do the aforementioned video gaming so it's not a bad thing. We're going to make one last push for the summit now. Pray that Bear and I make it... *grins* *hugs* PS: Yes, the "typo" at the top is on purpose. *grins* |
